Video surveillance is currently
being used as a security measure by construction and development
companies, primary and secondary home owners, parents, businesses,
resorts, animal care facilities, day care centers and property management
companies. The types of people that can benefit from an affordable
surveillance system range widely and have a variety uses for the
technology (See our “
Who
Can Use Real Time Cam” page for more information).
While researching the need for an easy to use
video surveillance system, Real Time Cam uncovered some interesting
statistics. The American Management Association recently
took a poll of 1,055 HR managers, which they believe is a representation
of their 10,000 organizations that employ over ¼ of the US
workforce. The results of the poll showed that over 67% of all companies
have some type of video surveillance and monitoring in place. They
expect that the number of organizations using video surveillance
will increase to at least 75% in the next two years. Based on the
growth of this type of monitoring in corporate environments, it
is obvious that it is an effective and valuable tool.
Companies are often subject to employee theft, which causes approximately
30% of all small businesses to fail. Surveillance has been proven
to stop the majority of this type of theft from occurring. However,
users of Real Time Cam services are not only businesses, digital
video surveillance is found in many households as irreplaceable
guard.
